Terms of use

The short version

Tab Tender is provided as-is, free for personal use. Don't use it to break laws, abuse other users, scrape data, or impersonate people. Don't share other people's financial info without their consent.

Math & receipt scanning

We try hard to get the splits right, and receipt photo scanning uses automated recognition that can misread items, prices, or totals. Always review the parsed items and sanity-check the totals before sending money. We're not responsible for any disputes over who owes what.

Payments

Tab Tender does not process payments or move money. Payment links (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, Wise, Revolut) simply hand off to those apps — your transactions are governed by their terms, and you're responsible for sending the right amount to the right person. If a tab names someone else as the payee (for example, you set it up on a friend's behalf), money goes to that person via their own payment app — we're not a party to it.

Trademarks

Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, Wise, Revolut, Splitwise, Tab, and other product and company names referenced on this site are trademarks of their respective owners. Tab Tender is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with any of them. These names are used only for identification, integration, and comparison purposes.

Your content & our data

You're responsible for the names, amounts, receipts, ratings, and other details you enter, and you confirm you have the right to add the people you put on a tab. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share.

By submitting content to Tab Tender (receipts, line items, venue details, ratings, notes, and similar), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, analyze, adapt, and use that content to operate, improve, and build Tab Tenderproducts and services. That includes classifying and summarizing content with automated (AI) tools, and combining it with other users' submissions.

The datasets and statistics we derive from submitted content, such as venue and city price aggregates, price trends, rating averages, and AI-generated venue summaries, belong to Tab Tender, and we may publish, license, and commercialize them as we see fit, including on public pages that name, compare, or rank venues, in the signed-in price search, and in future data products. Derived data is always aggregated and de-identified with respect to people: it never identifies you or any individual bill. See our Privacy Policy for the thresholds and safeguards.

Venue ratings must reflect your genuine experience at a tab you were actually on. We may remove ratings or summaries that look fraudulent, abusive, or defamatory.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.

Changes

These terms can change. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continuing to use Tab Tender after a change means you accept the update.
